ADVANCE COMMENTS ON THE BOOK:
Thank you ever so much for the advance copy... I have always believed that Frank Olson was murdered but felt it would have been irresponsible to say so publicly without proof... Your book has now accomplished the task of establishing that Olson was murdered, and has laid out the motives beyond a shadow of doubt... I must admit that I was shocked by the secret held by Olson... For many years now I have thought that little could shock me. I was wrong: the facts as laid out in A TERRIBLE MISTAKE continue to shock me. [Name withheld by request.]
Blown away by your findings and work…. I will be watching closely at what the fallout will be from [the book’s] publication.... Col. Wm. Edward Walsh, Maryland.
Thanks for letting me read an advance copy of your book, A TERRIBLE MISTAKE, a monumental, groundbreaking work at some 900 pages. Right away, I have to say that parts of the book just stunned me—the connections between Olson’s murder and JFK’s death really amazed me. How has this been overlooked for so long? Better yet, how have Olson’s assassins been overlooked historically for so long? Why? Surely this is not coincidence or mere oversight; what is at play here? Who is calling the shots? Lasting, I’m especially intrigued about your section on the CIA and drug company work performed in Haiti... Sincerely, [name withheld by request], Washington, D.C.
What can I say? What a huge, shocking work—no wonder it took so long to complete. I can say for sure that your book does not make me sleep better at night. As a matter of fact it scares the hell out of me that the U.S. government carried out this horrific work. Fort Detrick was a place of round-the-clock horror. Why? So we can be better killers than anyone else? Frank Olson was no saint, as you have well demonstrated, but his murder was not justified. Perhaps he paid the ultimate price for the sins of his government. --Terry Masonni, Chicago.
How many people has the CIA killed in the past fifty years? Does anyone know—or care? How is it that narcotics and murder and intelligence gathering have become so interchangeable and interlocked? The Olson case is but one glaring example of what I imagine are countless others. And it goes on and on.
-Samuel Fournier, London, U.K.
Great book; sure to rock some boats on this sea of madness. I’m amazed at the identities of Olson’s assassins, as I was about the experiments conducted in Europe and Haiti… What the hell is the French government going to have to say about this...? So many injured and dead! For what? So the U.S. could develop needless weapons of mass destruction and death? Where does it end? Thanks for the great read, [name withheld].
